Opera schedules and family time don't often align the way we would like. This summer has been a rare exception. In just a couple of weeks Marina will return to Oper Köln (Cologne, Germany) for her performances as Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata. Ginger returns to Opera de Paris for the reprise of her Despina in Mozart's Così Fan Tutte. Miriam will meet up with them in Russia for more concerts and recordings with Constantine Orbelian after that.
Meanwhile, we are making every moment count. Today we enjoyed Emilia's Pasta Carbonara made with fresh eggs from our hens, and salad from the garden. (Emilia's cooking is extraordinary!)
We've celebrated the United States' Independence Day (the Fourth of July) and Utah's Pioneer Day (July 24) with an unusually large arsenal of fireworks Marina's husband Davide won and purchased; played with Miriam's children; and enjoyed the Hobbit-like joy of growing things in the garden.
One of the really fun projects from this summer together is Marina, Miriam, and Ginger's new social campaign. Check out their work on Facebook and Instagram.
